Before you start
- Your IPTV login details or playlist information from your provider.
- Your TV connected to the internet, ideally with an Ethernet cable.
- About 5–10 Mbps per HD stream and 15–25 Mbps for 4K. Run a speed test on the TV’s browser if you can.
- The name of the player app your provider recommends.
Samsung (Tizen)
- Press Home and open Apps.
- Search for the player app your provider recommends and install it.
- Open the app and note any device ID or MAC address it shows: some providers need it.
- Enter your login details or playlist information, then wait for channels to load.
LG (webOS)
- Open the LG Content Store (Apps).
- Search for and install the recommended player app.
- Open it, add your details, and let the channel list and guide load.
Sony, Hisense, TCL and other Google TV / Android TV sets
- Open Google Play on the TV.
- Install the recommended player app.
- Open it, sign in or add your playlist, and load the guide.
Hisense models using VIDAA and some TCL models using Roku OS have smaller app stores. If the app is missing, add a streaming device.
Best settings for Canadian viewers
- Time zone: set the TV and the app to your local zone (Newfoundland, Atlantic, Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific) so the guide matches.
- Picture mode: use Standard or Filmmaker mode rather than Vivid for accurate colours.
- Motion smoothing: turn it off for films; keep a low setting for sports if you prefer.
- Network: use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
